Trockene bis atopic Haut

Atopic dermatitis - more commonly known as neurodermatitis or atopic eczema - is a chronic, inflammatory skin disease that is widespread in industrialized countries and is characterized by severe dry skin and particularly severe itching.

Atopic means that those affected tend to develop certain diseases that are characterized by general hypersensitivity or allergies. Atopic diseases include allergic asthma, allergic inflammation of the mucous membranes of the nose and eyes and certain food intolerances. Atopic diseases are often associated with atopic eczema. Atopic eczema usually occurs in childhood, sometimes even shortly after birth in the form of so-called "cradle cap". In most cases, however, the disease gets better with age or heals completely.
