neurodermatitis,

Is a chronic, non-contagious skin disease. Typical signs are a rash and severe itching. Eczema often occurs in children. It often improves over the years and disappears temporarily or even completely. If there is a connection with an allergy, one also speaks of "atopic dermatitis" or "atopic eczema".

Neurodermatitis can significantly impair the quality of life. The itching in particular can be stressful and disrupt sleep and the ability to concentrate. Many sufferers are uncomfortable with their visible rashes. However, the disease can usually be brought under control with good skin care, therapeutic treatment, medication and avoidance of triggers.
